What is it

A writing home you actually own

Scriptlog is a free and open-source PHP blog software designed to be simple, private, and secure. It powers personal weblogs without the overhead of a full-scale CMS, delivering a fast, minimal, and modular foundation for sharing your stories and thoughts. It is released under the permissive MIT License, so you may use, modify, and redistribute it freely, including commercially.

Install in Minutes

Runs on PHP 7.4+ with MySQL 5.7+ or MariaDB 10.3+. Install dependencies with Composer, run the three-step browser installer, and you are live in about five minutes.

Own Every Byte

Self-host on your own domain, keep a permissive MIT license, and move anywhere later. Nothing is locked inside a proprietary walled garden.

Secure by Default

bcrypt passwords, prepared statements, CSRF tokens, rate limiting, session fingerprinting, and AES-256-encrypted protected posts.

Built to Be Found

SEO-friendly permalinks, an XML sitemap, RSS and Atom feeds, and lazy-loaded WebP images.

How it works

From zero to publishing in minutes

A focused PHP core routes every request through Bootstrap, the Dispatcher, controllers, services, and DAOs, so visitors see fast, clean pages and you stay in control.

1

Download & Install

Grab the latest release, install dependencies with Composer, and complete the three-step browser installer (requirements check, database setup, finishing) in about five minutes.

2

Write & Publish

Rich editor with automatic WebP image processing, topics and tags, drafts, scheduled publishing, and password-protected posts encrypted with AES-256-CBC.

3

Grow & Extend

Themes, plugins, and a RESTful v1 API covering posts, topics, comments, and archives let you build headless frontends on your data, while the core stays small, fast, and easy to maintain.

Security runs through every layer: every form carries a CSRF token, user input is sanitized against XSS (voku Anti-XSS and htmLawed), passwords are hashed with bcrypt, and rate limiting throttles logins and API requests.
Security & privacy

Privacy by default, not as an add-on

Passwords are hashed with bcrypt, sensitive settings and protected post content are encrypted at rest, and every input is validated. When you self-host, you decide where your content and reader data live and how long they are kept.

Built-in GDPR tools provide one-click data export and anonymized erasure, a consent log, and a privacy audit trail. As open-source software, Scriptlog is auditable by anyone.
